In partnership with University Health Network, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, this is a modified exercise program suitable for adults with mobility challenges, who can walk at least 10 metres and may use a cane or walker.
Exercises are designed to increase strength, balance, mobility and overall health. This is a registered program scheduled for twice a week and participants must be screened prior to registration.
You may bring a support person with you. (City of Toronto FitnessTO memberships do not apply).
Participants Must Be Able To:
1. Walk 10 meters (2 lane residential street) without the help of another person.
-Can use other kind of aide
-Speed and quality is not important
2. Follow instructions and demonstrations in small group setting.
3. Safely stand and move with hand support for balance.
4. Rise from a chair on their own.
