Since the pandemic started, many of us have changed the way we are working.
We are sitting at our desks for hours on end, and that is not great for our bodies. We know it's good to get up and move, but it can be a big challenge to take movement breaks. Pre-pandemic we took movement breaks all the time - we would go up stairs or be moving to and from the subway or maybe traveling from office to office or to meeting rooms. Now we go to the bathroom and the kitchen and that's about it.
I was intrigued to learn recently about "exercise snacking":
short bursts of activity that you snack on throughout the day.
Apparently, improvements in cardiorespiratory fitness have been seen in those who snack on fitness.
So, I've set up a dance fitness break for us during the week. No need for fitness wear. Just move away from your desk and let's move together!
