On Sunday May 16, 2010, from 2-4pm, Jennifer Hicks (Brown Belt Nia Instructor) is hosting a Nia Dance Jam & Silent Auction to raise funds for community newspaper Good News Toronto.
Good News Toronto is a monthly not-for-profit newspaper. Good News Toronto celebrates inspirational people in Toronto with the goal of motivating all of us to continue to make this city rich in everyday heroes.
15 Nia teachers from Toronto and the surrounding GTA will inspire and energize over 100 participants in a lively Nia Workout that is sure to move bodies, minds and spirits! A silent auction will also be held.
25 years ago, aerobic fitness experts Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas (Portland, OR) saw a need for a more holistic approach to fitness. They took off their running shoes and began integrating dance, martial arts and yoga into their classes. Today, Nia continues to inspire many worldwide to get fit while having fun! Locally, there are over 80 Certified Nia Instructors teaching in fitness clubs, dance studios and private studios in the GTA and surrounding areas.
Please drop by the 918 Cultural Arts Centre for a unique and inspiring fitness experience supporting an amazing cause. For more information, please contact Jennifer Hicks at 416.573.4911 or jenniferhicks@rogers.com
