Collage Workshop: A Fundraiser for Center Lifelover in Kiev, Ukraine
On Sat Apr 30, 2022 members of our Nia community participated in a fundraising workshop to support Zhizneljub (Lifelover), a Community Center located in Kiev, Ukraine. Together, and with generous donations from our community, we raised $620 for them!
Since the war, Center Lifelover has been helping the cities most vulnerable people (elders and isolated individual) who cannot leave. They supply medication, food, wheelchairs, offer visitation and more. You can learn more about their work here and here.
We were introduced to this beautiful cause by an incredible Torontonian named Olga Krakovna, a Ukranian-Canadian who is helping people on the ground in Ukraine. Olga joined us for the workshop and shared more about the work of Center Lifelover. She will facilitate the transfer of funds directly to them. More about Olga and her work here.
Thanks to our kind and inspiring facilitator Katia Engell and the spirit of the entire group, I *definitely* moved my creative energy and connected to something deeper inside and outside of myself. That really helped me given the fact that I’ve been in quite a depressed state this past while.
In the words of the group, we experienced so much together – see those sentiments captured below.
